What’s On: In Beach Huts
All events are free entry unless otherwise indicated. Certain performances
and workshops take place at specified times and can be booked in
advance with the artists at the relevant hut
PERFORMANCES
The Elbow Orchestra
Your own individual improvised concert performed by the Elbow Orchestra:
four highly trained tuning fork virtuosi. A unique audio experience.
Music Hut, Block 1
Saturday only.
Length: 5 minutes.. Age: Any
Tales
from the Beach Hut
Come and have a cup of tea and a sandwich and listen to strange,
funny, unique tales, as the guests of writer Ursula Wills Jones.
Story Hut, Block 1
Saturday and Sunday. Times: 11.00, 12.00, 2.00, 3.00
Length: 30 minutes.. Sge: 14 - adult
Day Return
Left Luggage Theatre
Day Return takes the audience on a journey through Ivy’s dreams
and memories as she visits Skegness. The production uses a mixture
of live performance, installation and puppetry.
Day Return takes place in two huts in block 2
Sunday Only Times: 10.00, 11.00, 2.00, 3.00.

EXHIBITIONS
See the Strange Thing!
A Most Extraordinary and Unique Exhibition of a newly discovered
animal. What is It? That’s what we’d like to know! These
potentially earthshaking remains are on their way to the British
Museum but until then the people of Lincolnshire are invited to
view the creature and offer their opinion as to its origin.

B Sides at the Seaside
Milk, Two Sugars
An art gallery on the sea front, complete with a random record player,
free notebook and gifts offered to the public. Beach games to win
prizes. Live drawing session.

Bathing Beauties Micro Exhibition
A chance to see some of the designs for new beach huts submitted
to the Bathing Beauties Competition.

Sculptor in residence - James Sutton
Lincoln based sculptor James Sutton will be in residence for the
whole of the festival. James is offering one to one sculpture workshops
for all ages and abilities- book with the artist. Or come and see
him discussing his work on display and creating something new.

Saturday and Sunday
Age: 10-adult.
WORKSHOPS
Shadow
Puppet Punch and Judy
Workshop and Performance with Vicky Wilson. An hour puppet making
workshop culminating in your own short performance to family &
friends. Take your puppet home. Limited places so you may wish to
book in advance with artist.
Shadow huts, Block 2 Saturday and Sunday
Times: 10am, 11.45pm, and 2.30.pm. Duration 1½ hours
Age: Any (Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.)
Drumming Workshops
Explore junk percussion and African rhythms with renowned drumming
teacher Victor Scott. Then use what you’ve learned in a big
drumming get together on the beach at 4pm to round off the festival.

Then meet on the beach (location TBC) at 4pm.
