I’m
Tony Howard and I serve as a councillor on all 3 local councils,
namely Mablethorpe & Sutton
Town Coucil, East
Lindsey District Council and Lincolnshire
County Council. My political affiliation is to the
Labour Party. (I never have nor ever will stand as an Independent
in order to hide my true political beliefs as many others have
done).
On the town
council I represent Mablethorpe East, but will willingly take
forward problems & queries from anyone residing in the whole
area covered by the council.
On the county council I represent Mablethorpe &
Trusthorpe Division. Labour are the largest of the 3 opposition
groups. As well as attending the Full Council meetings I am also
on 3 committees:-
-
Culture, Sport and Tourism Development Group
-
Planning & Regulation CommitteePolicy,
-
Performance & Audit Committee
Whist not holding a position in the Shadow Executive
I am the Labour leading spokesperson on the Planning Committee and
for Culture, Sport and Tourism.
My council duties also get me involved in many other
activities around the area some of which are:-
-
Primary school as governor
-
Tennyson High school as governor
-
Youth Club as management committee chair
-
Playing Fields as committee member
-
Boatshed Project as management chair
Also I regularly attend and speak at meetings of
the Tourism Forum, Skate
Inline & BMX group, Sports Forum, Mablethorpe
Marathon organisation & Mablethorpe Improvement Partnership.
In addition to which I liaise with other local groups such as the
Seniors Forum and authorities such as the Police.
For the Civic year 2007/2008 I am Mayor of Mablethorpe.
When not involved in politics I like to enjoy live
music & theatre, play the occasional game of cricket and support
Boston United. My business takes me all round England & Wales
but I do still enjoy travelling – especially if someone else
is driving for once!!) |
