| Since
opening in 1985 Mablethorpe Day Centre has continually served the local
community. The Day Centre is situated in Ruskin Road, Mablethorpe. This
is a turning off of Alexandra Road which is opposite the Lidl Store in
the High Street. Our opening times are Monday to Friday from 8.30am till
2.30pm. We cover a large area extending from Mablethorpe to Chapel
St. Leonards and inland to Alford
and Willoughby. Our clients come in either by their own transport or in
a high roof mini-bus. They are given, shortly after arrival, either a
cup of tea or coffee. At mid-day a three course lunch is provided which
varies from, week to week, with the option of salads in season. Tea and
coffee is also served after lunch while clients relax and let their meal
go down. During their stay our clients have the opportunity to play cards
or dominoes should they wish to. A small range of handicrafts is available
with some assistance if required. The old-time favourite of Bingo is played
every afternoon, prior to going home, for those who wish to join in. We
also have a daily raffle, and periodically we run a tombola stall with
excellent prizes.
Although
there are activities, some clients prefer to just sit chatting with friends
as living alone, they miss the pleasure of conversation.
We have a small shop which has sweets and essentials. There is also
a chiropodist who attends regularly for the benefit of the clients. Clients
are required to make appointments for this service and pay the chiropodist
on the day.
Maybe you are elderly and lonely, fed up with being surrounded by the
same four walls. Perhaps finding it a strain to shop and prepare meals,
or a carer for someone, and you need a break from the stress, we may be
able to help. Why not give us a call on 01 507 472 055 for further details.
