Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea, 2007 Spring Ball promoted by
Mr. Michael Wellby was held at the Haven Golden Sands Holiday
Park, Mablethorpe.
The Chairman of Lincolnshire County Council, Cllr. Colin Helstrip
and the Chairman of West Lindsey District Council Cllr. Michael
Tinker attended this years Ball.
The music of Michael Willson at the organ greeted guests as
they arrived.
In his welcoming address the Mayor of Mablethorpe and Sutton
Town Council, Cllr. Bernard Dobbs said he was over whelmed by
the support shown to him and his wife Pauline. Referring to
all the civic dignitaries who were in attendance, he said how
nice it was to see the gathering of the chains. He went on to
name the charities that would benefit from this years Ball.
They were The Seal Sanctuary at Mablethorpe, the R.N.L.I., Mablethorpe,
and the Meridale Hall, Sutton on Sea.
A warm reception was given to Miss Sophie Peel from Grimsby
the Janet Revans dancers from Lincoln, who opened the evening
proceedings with a song and dance routine from the musical Cabaret.
Guests danced to the music of the Lincolnshire based band, the
Jazz Pack Five.
During the break for the buffet supper, local vocalists Johnny
Saint and Malk King entertained. The evening continued until
the raffle draw with more dancing, and a demonstration dance
sequence by Mr. Dennis Joice and Mrs. Jo Bowen. The raffle raised
£400.
The star vocalist of the night Miss Sarah Lowe from Grimsby,
concluded the evening with a song by Miss. Tina Turner, Simply
the Best. Words echoed by all of those who supported this years
Spring Ball. |
