Mablethorpe Residents' Association was started in 1991, with a campaign
to prevent the badger setts being destroyed when the road through the
dunes was being constructed. With this successful campaign, it was felt
that Mablethorpe needed a "Voice for the People", so the Association continued
its' work.
It is now for the people of Mablethorpe to have their say in public matters
and items of concern or interest, and the Association will take the matter
up on their behalf, and liaise with other bodies.
The Association has regular meetings with :- The Police, Mablethorpe
Town Council, Coastal Manager, and has representatives on the Tourism
Forum and the Police Forum. The Association also liases with the Library
and attends at the Primary Care Group Board meetings, (in the Public Gallery).
Recently the Association has been active in the following matters:-
- Getting the Lincoln hospital bus reinstated
- Arranging for free car parking for the Seacroft Doctors' surgery
- Organising a petition against the Orange Phone mast in Seacroft Road
- Arranging for the Police Station "out of hours microphone" to be lowered
to enable it's use by disabled people
- Getting the volume of noise from the seafront fair lowered
- Arranging for more public waste bins
- Lobbying at the Primary Care Group Board meetings on behalf of Seacroft
Surgery
- Road widening in Marian Avenue
The Association holds a Spring and Christmas Fayre, to enable small charities
to have a stall, at no cost, to raise funds for their projects.
If you have any topics that you wish to discuss, or complaints that you
wish the Association to act upon on your behalf (regretfully, private
matters cannot betaken on board), please ring:-
