85. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs P Jackson (illness),
Mrs M Morgan (personal) and G Richards (personal).
86. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
Cllr A Howard declared a personal interest in minute 88 as a member
of the District Council.
87. MINUTES
It was proposed, seconded and
Resolved: That the minutes of the meeting held on 7 January 2008,
having been previously circulated, be signed by the Chairman as
a correct record.
88. E.L.D.C. PLANNING DECISIONS
N/172/03010/07 Extension to existing storage buildings at existing
factory premises to provide an enlarged storage area which is to
be built on the existing redundant section of outbuildings which
are to be demolished – Willow Tree Farm, Brickyard Lane, Sutton-on-Sea.
Application refused.
N/172/02917/07 Erection of a beach chalet on the site of previous
chalet destroyed by fire – Beach Chalet 19, Promenade, Sutton-
on-Sea. Application refused.
89. PLANNING APPLICATIONS
It was proposed, seconded and
Resolved: That in accordance with Schedule 16 of the Local Government
Act 1972, observations on the following planning applications be
submitted to East Lindsey District Council (for details of submissions
see appendix attached).
N/172/03284/07 That objection be made – as the construction
of a conservatory is contrary to Policy T17 of the East Lindsey
Local Plan Alteration 1999 as the development does not provide essential
services nor upgrade existing facilities.
N/110/02786/07 That this application be supported.
N/172/03344/07 That this application be supported.
(Note: With regard to application N/172/03284/07 it was agreed
that a representative of the planning department be invited to a
future meeting of this committee to explain the District Council’s
position on policy T17.)

91. STREET NAMING – CADE’S FIELD
The Committee considered a request from Eastern Shires Housing Association
for suggestions for street names on the new development. Having
considered the plans for the development and the recent naming of
new streets in Sutton-on-Sea after the individuals named on the
war memorial, it was agreed to continue this practice.

Resolved:
1. That the development at the end of De La Bere Avenue be a continuation
of that street (plots 36 to 41)
2. That the development at the end of Cade’s Field Road be
a continuation of that street (plots 1 and 2, 11 to 14, 21 to 35)
3. That the development off Cade’s Field Road be named
Rossington Close (plots 3 to 10 and 15 to 20)
92. CEMETERY FOOTPATHS
It was proposed, seconded and
Resolved: That the Town Clerk be authorised to invite tenders from
a select list of contractors for the construction of approximately
140 metres of footpath in the cemetery extension.
93. CLERK’S CORRESPONDENCE
(i) Planning application – The Elms 12 Church Road, Mablethorpe
-
notification that the application had been withdrawn.
(ii) Sand Dunes – Quebec Road, Mablethorpe – notification
that works were to be undertaken cutting back the vegetation on
the dunes prior to the bird nesting season.
(iii) Temporary road closures – Parry Road, Mablethorpe;
Church Lane / Seaholme Road, Mablethorpe and Mile Lane, Trusthorpe.
(iv) Cycleway, Maltby le Marsh to Mablethorpe – response
from the County Council stating that it was unlikely that a cycleway
would be provided on the highway.
(v) Queen’s Park – information from East Lindsey District
Council in response to the question about cleaning of the paths.
(vi) Mablethorpe Land Trains – information from Lincolnshire
County Council about the land train operation.
